The Holy Rosary Church Guard of Honor was established in January 1960, as suggested by Monsignor Kowalczyk, in order to assist in Holy Masses and other ministries of the church. Mr. Stanley Benedyktowicz (Benedic) was elected its first President. Duties of the organization consist of collecting the Sunday collections and assistance during various Masses, celebrations, and ministries, especially in emergency situations. The organization also sponsors a ceremony for the breaking of the Christmas Wafer or "Oplatek" for the whole parish, and a dinner dance for its members, their families, and friends.
The function of an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister consists of assisting the priest by distributing communion during Holy Mass, as well as, at the Pastor’s request, visiting and bringing the communion to the sick (to their homes or hospitals). An Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is appointed by the bishop to a particular parish, and can only perform his duties in the given church under the supervision of its Pastor. The Bishop granted permission for Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers to serve Holy Rosary Church in 1988. After attending lectures at the College of Saint Elizabeth in March 1988, the first Eucharistic Ministers began their service to Holy Rosary Church in April, 1988.
In order to give our older parishioners the opportunity to meet in the social setting, as well as to allow them to enrich themselves spiritually, Pastor organized the Leisure Club at Holy Rosary Parish in November of 1981. Meetings are held every month and are announced during Holy Masses and published in the bulletin.
